I have been restoring cars as a hobby since 1994 and finally got around to the 1972 Z600 that I bought new in early 1973. It is a low mileage (33,000) car that is completely original with the exception of removing the fender marker lights when I did the necessary bodywork and repainted the car. Restoring one of these 2 cylinder beauties is a challenge. Parts are becoming very difficult to find, and unlike a Chevy or even a Pontiac, there aren't 10 people in the neighborhood with expertise to help you out. So I decided to combine my profession (computers) with my hobby (cars) and build a website to provide information about the Honda 600. Follow the links below for lots of pictures of the Honda and of some of the other cars I have restored over the years. As you will see, the Honda is the odd one of the bunch. |
My car at the Holly MI weekly cruise night where it drew a lot of attention and a lot of smiles. I've been participating in cruise nights and car shows in the Detroit area for over 10 years - this is the only Honda 600 I've ever seen on the street.
Help Wanted Based on the best information provided in response to this picture, it is almost certain that this was a conversion done by a private owner. Honda did not build or sell 600 pickup trucks. But this one is a beauty - maybe they should have built some. Of course you'd have to be really, really small to sleep in the back of this one... |
